I needed to design a set of emotion icons that accurately represent the range of emotions being detected in Twitter posts by our social media analytics app. These icons should be easy to understand, universally recognizable, and visually consistent with our app's design language, in order to effectively communicate the emotions being analyzed to our users.
• Stay at home moms with a big family
• Working moms that shop online
• College students on a budget
The user will be expecting there to be a way to add items to the shopping list. The user will want to be able to checkout online from their shopping list. Buttons are not in familiar spots and they do not function properly.
Users were not able to accomplish the tasks given to them. They struggled because there was no familiarity within the app with others they had used before. They were not able to learn how to use it and eventually gave up on the task.
